Custom fronts for IKEA kitchens across British Columbia

British Columbia has two IKEA stores, both in Metro Vancouver: Coquitlam and Richmond. IKEA lists plan and order points in Abbotsford and Kelowna, which double as pick-up locations, plus pick-up locations in Parksville and Victoria for Vancouver Island. Vancouver and Victoria each have their own page.

Much of the province is a ferry ride or a long mountain drive from Coquitlam. When it opened the Kelowna point in April 2026, IKEA said the nearest store was a four-hour drive from there, and the gap is wider again for the Kootenays, the Cariboo, the North Coast and the Peace.

That’s where custom fronts that ship flat make sense. Plan the kitchen, take delivery of the IKEA cabinets, and order doors, drawer fronts and panels from a maker who crates them for the trip. On the Sunshine Coast, Haida Gwaii or the Gulf Islands, ask whether ferry freight is in the quote, and who receives the shipment if you’re not home.

Questions about custom IKEA doors and fronts in British Columbia

I live in the BC Interior. How do custom fronts get to me?

Makers who sell across BC can ship fronts flat-packed by courier or freight truck. Ask for a delivered price to your postal code and a realistic transit estimate, because winter highway closures can add days. IKEA’s Kelowna and Abbotsford plan and order points can help with the cabinet side, and a local installer can fit the doors once everything has arrived.

Will a BC installer hang fronts I bought from a maker elsewhere?

Often, yes, but ask before you order. Plenty of carpenters will hang and adjust doors they didn’t make, while some refacers prefer to supply their own so they can stand behind the fit and finish. On Vancouver Island and in the North, line up your installer early and agree who deals with any damaged or mis-sized pieces.
