Order: IKEA work confirmed first, then the most local, then by name. Nobody can pay to move up this list.
Nevada’s IKEA store is in Las Vegas, and in October 2025 IKEA opened a plan and order point with pick-up in Henderson, at Whitney Ranch, where you can book time with a kitchen planner. In northern Nevada, IKEA lists a pick-up point at Redfield Promenade in Reno for collecting online orders.
That still leaves much of the state far from any store. From Elko, Ely, Winnemucca or Tonopah, ordering the cabinets online and buying custom fronts from a maker who ships is simpler than a long haul home with a full truck. Reno and Carson City shoppers can plan online and collect at Redfield Promenade.
The desert climate matters when you choose materials. Indoor air in Las Vegas and Reno is often very dry, and solid wood from a damper region can shrink once it settles in, opening gaps around panels. Ask makers of custom doors for IKEA kitchens how they dry and seal wood for desert homes, or go with painted MDF or laminate. If someone is installing for you, look them up on the Nevada State Contractors Board’s license search before work starts.
It’s a plan and order point with pick-up, not a full store. IKEA says you can book a one-on-one appointment with a planner to work through a kitchen, including cabinets, appliances and countertops, then order and collect curbside through Click & Collect. Once your plan is done, upload it to Fronts to price custom doors for the same cabinets.
The Nevada State Contractors Board has a license search on its website and urges homeowners to use licensed contractors. Look up anyone you’re paying for IKEA kitchen refacing or installation before work begins, and get the scope and price in writing. Buying fronts that ship to you and hanging them yourself is a separate matter.
