Order: IKEA work confirmed first, then the most local, then by name. Nobody can pay to move up this list.
New York State has three IKEA stores: Brooklyn, Long Island (in Hicksville) and a small-format store at Destiny USA in Syracuse, which opened in November 2025. IKEA also lists pick-up points in the Bronx, Queens, Freeport, Albany-Altamont, Buffalo-Cheektowaga and Syracuse-Liverpool. New York City has its own page.
This page is for the rest of the state: Long Island beyond the city line, the Hudson Valley, the Capital Region, the Finger Lakes, the North Country and Western New York. The Syracuse store has no self-serve warehouse, so larger items are delivered or picked up there, and the Albany-Altamont and Buffalo-Cheektowaga pick-up points bring cabinet orders closer to many upstate homes.
Custom doors for IKEA cabinets don’t have to follow the same route as the boxes. One option is a local contractor who measures and installs; another is a maker who ships boxed doors and drawer fronts statewide. If you’re in the Adirondacks or the Southern Tier, ask whether the quote covers delivery to your door or only to the nearest freight terminal.
Start with the plan. You can design an IKEA kitchen online, order the cabinets for delivery or collection at a pick-up point such as Albany-Altamont or Buffalo-Cheektowaga, and upload the plan to Fronts for door quotes. The Syracuse store also takes orders for larger items, which are delivered or picked up rather than carried out of a warehouse.
Yes. IKEA has stores in Paramus and Elizabeth, New Jersey, and where you buy the cabinets changes nothing about the doors: a maker or contractor works from your IKEA plan and cabinet sizes. If you hire an installer, check local rules, since some downstate counties license home improvement contractors and requirements vary across New York.
