Nova Scotia has the only full IKEA store in Atlantic Canada. IKEA lists it as IKEA Halifax, though its address is on Cutler Avenue in Dartmouth. The rest of the region is served by pick-up locations in Moncton, Fredericton, Charlottetown and St. John’s. Halifax has its own page.

For Nova Scotians outside the Halifax area, the store is within reach, but from Cape Breton, Yarmouth or the Eastern Shore it’s a long day there and back. It’s often simpler to order IKEA cabinets online for delivery and save the store trip for planning help.

Custom fronts give you more choice than the store shelf, and they don’t need to come from Halifax. Hire a refacer to measure and fit them, or have a workshop send them boxed to any address in the province. In older Nova Scotia houses, walls and floors are often out of square, so ask for filler strips and scribe pieces to close the gaps.

I'm in Cape Breton. Do I need to drive to Dartmouth?

Not for the fronts. A maker can ship custom doors and panels to your door, and a local carpenter can hang them on your IKEA cabinets. For the cabinets themselves, check whether IKEA offers home delivery to your postal code; if not, collecting from the Dartmouth store may be the fallback. Ask any maker how long freight takes to Cape Breton.

Can a Nova Scotia refacer work from my IKEA plan?

Usually. The plan lists every cabinet, its width and its position, which is what a refacer or maker needs to price doors, drawer fronts and panels. You can upload it to Fronts as a quote request. A refacer who installs will normally still visit to measure before cutting, especially for end panels and fillers.
